Little Rock, Ark. — March 9, 2024 — Ryan Fan of Washington County is the winner of the 2024 Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas State Spelling Bee. The McNair Middle School student is the son of Chenguang Fan.

Fan competed with 56 other students from across Arkansas at the event that was held on Saturday, March 9 at the Arkansas 4-H Center in Little Rock.

Over 85,000 students from 426 schools in 56 counties across Arkansas participated in local and county contests that led up to the State Spelling Bee. Fan, the Arkansas winner, will proceed to The Scripps National Spelling Bee, the nation’s largest and longest-running educational program.
