Little Rock, Ark. — Dec. 3, 2013 — Keith Brown has been promoted to director of corporate safety for Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation (AECC) and Arkansas Electric Cooperatives, Inc. (AECI).
“During the past year, Keith has proven to be a results-oriented leader in the safety practices for AECC,” said Duane Highley, president and CEO of AECC/AECI. “He will now direct combined safety programs for AECC and AECI to ensure best safety practices are mutually shared throughout both cooperatives in a consistent manner.”
Prior to joining the cooperatives, Brown worked for 25 years in safety-related positions in the manufacturing, government and energy sectors. He holds a master’s of science degree in operations management from the University of Arkansas and a bachelor’s of science degree in organizational management from John Brown University.
The Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas comprise 17 electric distribution cooperatives; AECI, a Little Rockbased cooperative that provides services to the distribution cooperatives; and AECC, a generation and transmission cooperative. The distribution cooperatives provide electricity to approximately 500,000 homes, farms and businesses in Arkansas and surrounding states.
