Tim Mills headshotTim Mills has been named as president and chief executive officer of Electric Research and Manufacturing Cooperative (ERMCO) effective January 1, 2021. Mills replaces Bill Reffert, who is retiring after leading the organization since 2004.

Mills has more than 30 years of experience in distribution and manufacturing most recently serving as the senior vice president of growth for True Value Company, a hardlines wholesaler supporting more than 4,500 independent hardware retailers. Mills was responsible for more than $2 billion of sales and achieved record growth during his seven years at the company. Prior to True Value, Mills held leadership positions with HD Supply, one of the largest diversified industrial distributors in North America.

“After a careful review of candidates and a thorough evaluation of the skills that each applicant possessed, the board of directors of ERMCO selected Tim Mills to lead the organization as it continues its successful growth efforts,” said Brad Harrison, chairman of the ERMCO board of directors. “We commend Bill Reffert for his years of service and the great strides he made in the growth and financial success that ERMCO has enjoyed under his leadership.”

In addition to Mills’ aforementioned career achievements, he has also held executive roles in operations, sales and strategic development. He earned a master’s in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University’s College of Business and his bachelor’s in Business Administration and Management from the United States Air Force Academy.
